Coventry Carol
- Use for Italiante (short, frontal) "l's" rather than languid English ones on Lully. Get to the vowels
- Basses, please clean up the accuracy and intonation of the descending line in ms. 10, et al.
- Change dynamic of ms. 24 through 28 to mf instead of f. Make ms. 29 p (echo).
- Let vowels create crescendo in ms. 2-6 and 30-31.
- The ff are overstated on the last page. Just let it be strong and full.
- Tenors make sure each statement of Hodie, hodie is clean, blended, and similar
- All 16th-notes (page 2 natus, page 4-5, alleluja's, page 6, canunt) are light
- The highest volume should be no more than mf
- Page 9 Gloria should be more legato, otherwise, most should be light and detached, especially noe's.
- Make each contrasting section, the next "dance"
- Make sure all notes longer than a quarter-note go somewhere (energize), usually into the strong syllable of the word.
- Think beautiful, blended tone and moving line at all times
- First time through dynamics should be p, repeat should be pp
- Sing with light, jazz (breathier) tone
- Basses watch chromaticisms up and down
- Sing elongate vowels like a more "classical" with treatment of diphthongs
- Observe luft pauses on page 8 after more's
