Week of 2/15/2020

Dear Singers,

Here are a few notes about last weeks rehearsal:
There Is a Pleasure - Please solidify all notes, rhythms and diction. Tenors review the pitch progression going into the last chord in mm. 8 and 21.  MEMORIZE
Spatherbst - Please make sure notes, rhythms and German diction are solid. Remember to pull through the tied notes before triplets (all parts).
Bumble Bee - Be confident on parts up to m. 76. Each solo section work for uniformity, blend, and clarity, especially in Sop. 1 and 2.
Trees - Be confident on all notes, rhythms and words. Pay particular attention to page 7.

For Wednesday, please look at:
Abenlied
Due North
2. Trees
3. Woodpecker

Bumble Bee - to the end

Modimo - This will be MEMORIZED

Wednesday, I want to get your feedback on something. At our holiday concert, we had a record attendance:
                    167 at First Presbyterian
+ 259 at Mont La Salle (SRO)
= 426 Total (120 more than last year)
Last spring's attendance was:
                     79 at NVC
+ 170 at Mont La Salle
= 249 Total (77 more than the previous year)

We talked of potentially doing a total of three concerts, one on Friday evening at First Presbyterian, one on Saturday evening Up-Valley at PUC, and one on Sunday afternoon at Mont La Salle. We were going to make the Friday one be in conjunction with the scholarship program, feature the student(s) involved in that, and draw from family and friends of the student(s). However, we're now looking at something different for the scholarship program that would go into effect Fall of 2020. So, the question is, since it seems that our attendance is growing, do we still want to try to have two concerts in Napa and one Up-Valley. Or because attendance at the spring concert is significantly less, we just have the one in Napa. Based on last spring's total attendance, we might oversell Mont La Salle again. Think about it and let's talk on Wednesday.

Peace,
Ted
