Dear Singers,
It was great to meet and begin working
on our Spring semester music. I'm excited to welcome a new bass, Robert Mittman. So glad to have his musical talents and warm personality in Bel Canto.
Here’s a brief
recap.
Our concert this season is going
to be on the theme of home, longing for home, and ultimately hope, to correspond with fact that part of the proceeds of our
concert will benefit an organization(s) having to do with those who are
displaced from their homes. More on that to follow.
Our concert dates are on the
calendar, but I will put them here so you can also enter them into written form
if that helps:

Bel Canto
Boot Camp - Saturday, March 10, 9:30
am – 4:00 pm
This will be a
one day event. I realize this is might conflict with some of your work schedules,
but please make every effort to be there. All music – notes and rhythms must be
learned by this date.

Spring
Concert – Friday, May 4, 7:30 pm Napa Methodist Church
Sunday,
May 6, 4:00 pm Mont La Salle

I have recorded parts for Os
Justi, Abendlied, Where E’re You Go and Elihayu HaNavi. Please
review them. As you begin studying your parts on these, please pay special
attention to dynamics as well. Please highlight them in yellow. I’d like to review these pieces on
Wednesday, January 31, so please look them over. There will be new music on
Wednesday to read thru, as well. I'm really excited to be working together again.
